I will dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
